So College Jeopardy is on right now. The guy in the middle is from Stanford, and he is killing it. Running away with an easy victory.
Here's the thing, though. He's made a huge strategic mistake.
He's on College Jeopardy.
Your ceiling is limited in College Jeopardy. He had over $33,000 after Double Jeopardy. However, he won't get all that money. He gets $5,000 for being a quarterfinalist. For being a semifinalist, he'll get at least $10,000. If he gets into the finals, he'll get at least $25,000.
So for winning two games in the college tournament, he'll get at least $25,000. Not the $40,000 he would have gotten today. It's not uncommon to win at least that in only one game of real Jeopardy.
Additionally, the questions are a lot easier in College Jeopardy. Making it less than the real man's Jeopardy. A little kid's Jeopardy, really. Barely harder than the questions in the Teen Tournament.
Oh, and if you get in College Jeopardy, you can't get on real Jeopardy. You're done.
So, to conclude, Mr. Stanford Guy....excellent job tonight. You did well and you seem pretty smart. I look forward to seeing you later this week as the tournament continues. However...I'm sorry that you left thousands of dollars on the table by not applying to real Jeopardy.
